Description
Aims : Achieve a sense of belonging and contribution to a group.
Give children opportunities to contribute, help and participate in a group to allow them to adopt a empathic behavior.
Learning through encouragement (for a constructive change) and taking respon-sibility
This principle is based on 4 steps:
- Understand emotions
- Show empathy and share emotions
- Create communication based on mutual trust between teachers and students.
- Encourage children to find their own solutions

Strengths :
- Different approach to teaching work and to student / teacher / parent rela-tionship;
- The transformation of the sanction into positive educational action which teaches the skills to be developed;
- Work on mutual respect ;
- Consideration of the needs of others;
- Search for individual and collective solutions.

Difficulties :
- To manage a team of teachers and parents to adopt the project carried out.
- To find hourly solutions to meet students
- To transform the arrangement of the tables into several groupings of tables in the class to complete the project.

How to put this action in place:
You have to :
- Inform direction/students/parents and teachers about the action
- Plan a meeting time with the students
- Find a room to promote group work
- Change report card practices: arrange discussion time between parents / student and a teacher based on the student's attitude in group work.

The use of empathy and emotional intelligence : It is important to :
- Find a working environment that promotes joint work and communication
- Organize speaking times taking into account each person's emotions
- Get students to think about their behaviors (how they affect others, what can be done to avoid / solve these kinds of problems in the future)

Lesson Plan
Animation of one hour of class life: 30 students with 2 or 3 teachers in the class-

Students are gathered in small groups in an adapted room (grouped tables)
During the week preceding the class time, a notebook is made available to the students who will write down the topics to be addressed during the class time

During the session:
1) The session begins with a "round of compliments" using a talking stick; everyone can express themselves to thank or compliment one or more students in the class about events that happened during the week
(objective: strengthen belonging to the group)

2) Then, the subjects noted in the notebook are read out; The facts are expose and the students express what they felt (not what the other felt): no sen-tence like "you are doing ...", he does not like us ... ".

3)Last part of the session: the students propose solutions to the problem. They are noted on the board without discussion. Each solution is examined to verify if it is respectful of each one and a solution is chosen: it is implemented during a determined time.
During the next exchange time, the solution is revisited to see whether to contin-ue, stop, or find another solution.

Assessment
How to assess the skills and competences acquired by students.
The skills and competences of the students are continuously observed by the group of teachers in the class. During the year, teachers observe that:
- Students think about their work according to the usefulness in the group
- They develop a responsible attitude and take initiatives
- They dare to speak up and put their emotions into words (both orally and in writing)
- They become more autonomous in their work
- They are able to organize themselves
- They develop a feeling of confidence in their teachers
