Diversity Bingo I (Slovenia)

Description of the activity carried out
This activity helps pupils to get to know each other better in a fun and relaxed way. However, it also gives a teacher an opportunity to address stereotyping, prejudices and discrimination. Bingo statements are formulated in a way teacher can identify possible grounds for discrimination in last part of the activity - debriefing. Activity aims to encourage the perception of diversity in the classroom, reflection on it and what it can mean to participants themselves and others around them. Activity could cause discomfort with pupils who are more introverted or are having difficulties with establishing contacts and relationships with others. Activity could also encourage competition (as in a usual bingo) instead of participation, therefore it is important for teacher to address this in case it occurs.
